BIBLE STUDY: READING ASSIGNMENT: WEEK # 7
BIBLE STUDY: WEEK # 7 EXERCISE
What did you do to know you were walking in the Spirit today?
No sleep syndrome is what I would call this week's walking in the Spirit. It's very hard to work and no get any sleep the night before. I mean very hard, stressed-out situation too!
"Management of fatigue is a very important part of your personal safety and health. The average adult sleeps less than seven hours each day and more than a third of adults experience significant daytime sleepiness that affects their work and social functioning as a result. Most people need an average eight hours of sleep each day to mitigate the effects of fatigue, some might need more." I can manage with five hours, but less will affect me. I had to pray and ask God to help me that day. My patient couldn't sleep, so I couldn't sleep. She got up very early Sunday morning before I got back to work the weekend after Thanksgiving. She didn't sleep all day Sunday straight through to Monday. I mean this was after not sleeping Saturday night too. I begin to feel fatigue and stressed-out Monday evening. I prayed and had her daughter to pray with me, and God heard our prayers. Thank You, Jesus! I want to say, you can get stressed-out and not respond to the Holy Spirit's leading, amen. But God help me to walk in the Spirit. I am so grateful! I know that was not today, but that was important to me; Today was a good day and I did walk in the Spirit today! I cannot do it without the Holy Spirit helping me. We need God's Spirit daily, amen. Please pray for us, thanks.
BIBLE STUDY: WEEK # 7 ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
1). I Corinthians 13 teaches us on love and what else?
It is speaking of walking in the Spirit through God's love. In order to walk in the Spirit you must love in the Spirit.
2). Faith, hope, and charity, which one is the greatest?
Charity which is love
3). Explain Deuteronomy 6:5.
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." God is telling us to walk in His Spirit. With everything within us we must love God and trust Him. Seek Him with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our might.
4) What is the greatest commandment?
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength"
5). How do we begin to love God the way we should?
So how do we begin to love God the way we should? Just as the man in (Mark 9:24) asked God to help his unbelief, so too we can ask God to help us in areas where we don't love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. It is His power that we need to do the impossible, and we begin by seeking and appropriating that power.
6). What do it means to love God?
It mean to be eager to study God's Word, eager to pray, eager to obey and honor God in all things, and eager to share Jesus Christ with others. It is then these spiritual disciplines that the love for God grows and matures to the glory of God.
7). How can we know we are loving in the Spirit?
When we are walking in the Spirit we are loving in the Spirit.
8). What did Jesus do to prove His love for us?
Jesus died for our sins, He left His home in glory to come and died for us; He gave His life.
9). How do the Holy Spirit show His love for us?
He teaches us God's ways, He remind us of what God desire us to do and to be. He is our Comforter. He comfort us when we need it. We are to treat Him as a person, so He can communicate with us.
10). What question was asked concerning love in (I John 4)?
I John 4:20 " If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, (how can he love God whom he hath not seen?")
11). Is dancing forbidden in the Bible?
No, God honor dancing in the Spirit, because it is used as an act of worship in Scripture, and today it still can be used the same way to honor and praise God.
Explain the dance in the next four scripture:
12). (Exodus 15:20) "And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances."
(A song and dance of victory)
13). (Exodus 32:19) "And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount." (A dance of indignation Dishonoring God)
14). (2 Samuel 6:16) "And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart." (A dance of thanksgiving unto God)
15). (Mark 6:17-28) "For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not: 20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee; 22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. 23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom. 24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist. 25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother." (Fleshly pleasure seekers)
16). How should Biblical dancing be expressed?
Each congregation bears the responsibility to structure its worship service in a way that honors God and encourages those within their group, and anything during a worship gathering that distracts from a focus on Christ should be left out. This dance is to bring glory to God only.
17). What have you learn from reading (I Thessalonians 1-II Thessalonians 3)?
I got a little confused about the weekly reading for this week so how, not sure when it came about, but it did; Paul encouraged the Thessalonians to keep their hearts and minds on the Lord's return, on the teaching they had received from him. We can easily be confused and lead the wrong way. We must keep our eyes on Jesus at all the time. We must walk in the Spirit, so we can keep ourselves from evil association.
BIBLE STUDY: WALKING IN THE SPIRIT: WEEK # 7
Galatians 5:16-23 King James Version (KJV)
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
