God's Compassion to Heal:
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him. —Mark 1:41
"Moved with compassion," Jesus touched the leper. This may have been the first time in years that someone touched this man. No one wanted to touch him. He wasn't even supposed to come near people. In Luke 17:12, ten lepers cried to Jesus from afar because it was illegal to approach him. If a leper came within 100 paces of a healthy person, he had to get out of the way and call out, "Unclean! Unclean!" Still, Jesus heard the lepers call to Him and told them to go show themselves to the priest, and they were healed as they went. (v. 14.) Yet this one leper in Mark 1 came close to Jesus. Though he could've been stoned for being there, he had the tenacity of someone who wanted healing so badly he was willing to take a risk for it. The leper fell down before Jesus and said, "Lord, if You will, You can make me clean." Jesus immediately settled that question. Moved with compassion, He put forth His hand and touched the leper, saying, "I will; be thou clean." You see, God's ability shows His power, but His willingness shows His compassion. In the Word, God's compassion is magnified above His power. The Bible says, "God is love" (1 John 4:8), but it never says, "God is power." So trust your heavenly Father's love for you. As you come to Him in faith, His compassion will flow freely to heal you and make you whole.
My Confession: God's love and compassion reach out to me and heal me of every sickness and disease. He's able and willing to make me whole. So I am whole.

Lord God, thank You for the grace You have given us to pray for the nations. Praise be to You, the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. Without You we can do nothing. We are born for such a time as this. Father, we ask for the grace to be completely humble and gentle; patient, bearing with others in love. I make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Teach us to be a faithful prayer warrior on behalf of Your children. Abba, Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Test us, O Lord, and try us, examine our hearts and our minds; for Your love is ever before us, and with the measure of grace You have given us we walk continually in Your truth. As we study these lessons, please bless us with the knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to know the truth about You in these lessons, so we can know Your will in every aspect of our lives, in Jesus' Name we pray, AMEN.
