The Spiritual Warfare Weapons
CONCLUSION PRAYER:
Father God, thank You for this study on living a victorious life as You have ordain for all Your children. We pray that we will understand this conclusion and we will put this into practice daily. Help us to have knowledge when this take place in our lives, and to use wisdom when it happen, and, Lord, teach us through the Holy Spirit how to prepare for this battle every day. AMEN.
How do I prepare for spiritual battle?
2 Corinthians 10:4-6
We start our day by dressing appropriately for the weather or an activity. But many believers leave the house unprepared; they fail to arm themselves for spiritual warfare. Therefore, our first prayer before rising should include a step by step application of God's armor.
First, we strap on the belt of truth. Just as a leather apron protected the Roman soldier's abdomen, our protective girdle is the truth of who we are in Christ-saints who are supernaturally empowered by God's indwelling Spirit. Next, the breastplate deflects the enemy's fiery arrows. As difficult situations arise, we can repel the temptation to sin or live by emotion, whether anger, fear, or dissatisfaction, and we can respond in a manner that honors God instead.
The sandals of the gospel of peace help us to stand firm. Roman battle sandals usually had thick, spiked soles so that the soldier could anchor himself in the ground and remain steadfast. Regardless of how fiercely the enemy buffets us, we can remain firmly planted in the knowledge of who we are in Christ, redeemed saints and children of the living Lord with an important message to share with those who are lost.
The shield of faith is no tiny piece of armor. It is a full-body safeguard that represents Christ's protection against anything the enemy can throw at us. With full confidence in Christ, we confront every battle, knowing His will give us the victory.
Faith in God's grace that was shown at the Cross brought us salvation, the point at which we exchanged our old sinful self for a new eternal life in the Lord Jesus. Consequently, with salvation's helmet, we put on the mind of Christ, which gives us His discernment and wisdom.
Finally, we take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, so that we can combat the enemy's lies with the truth and promises of Scripture.
Knowing precisely what we will face each day, the Lord has graciously provided the perfect equipment needed for all our challenges. So always be sure to dress for battle. AMEN. This has been a great study, but I must confess, I have got to study this one again, so I can get more! Glory to God! Hallelujah! Praise You Jesus!
We finished this study with an overcomer's prayer life. The summary of it all is purpose of prayer. Paul says we are to pray "with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints." Intercession is perhaps the most often prayed kind of prayer, intercession being prayer for others. That's what intercede means: to intervene on behalf of another person. After Job's terrible loses, we are told that God "restored Job's loses when he prayed for his friends" (Job 42:10). When the Body of Christ practices intercessory prayer, we all get prayed for; I pray for you and others, and you and others are praying for me.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't pray for ourselves. But intercessory prayer is a part of the "Body" dynamic in the Christian faith. We "rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep" (Romans 12:15). We "bear one another's burdens" (Galatians 6:2). We live together as a family and part of that Body-life dynamic is carried out in prayer. I believe that heaven will reveal how the world was changed through prayer: your prayers for others and their prayers for you. We will all likely be surprised to discover who was praying for us that we didn't know about.
Every part of the Christian's spiritual armor is important: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. We will be more likely to keep that armor in place and overcome the enemy's tactics if we pray for ourselves and for others to be faithful in each area. Be a soldier of the Lord who overcomes in prayer. PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD DAILY!!!
Ephesians 6:10-18:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
ENDING PRAYER:
Thank You Lord. We praise You for the lesson; May the Lord bless all, and keep all. May the Lord make His face to shine upon all, and be gracious to all: May the Lord lift up His countenance upon all, and give all His peace! The Lord bless Israel and Jerusalem every day. AMEN.
