Fix Your Eyes on God's Word
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. —1 Corinthians 10:12
The enemy will do anything in the world to get a believer's eyes off the answer and back on the problem. For instance, I've heard people say, "I believe I'm healed! I believe I'm healed!" But when their bodies started to feel a little better, they've gotten their eyes off the Word and back over on their bodies. Then they say, "Oh, I know I'm getting better now because I feel better." That sounds good, but if believers get their eyes off the Word for any reason, it could get them in trouble. If they say, "I know I'm healed because my body feels better," what will they do if their bodies feel worse the next day? More than likely, they'll fall back into doubt and unbelief. We don't need any other reason to believe we're well except 1 Peter 2:24: "By Jesus' stripes, we were healed." If the enemy can keep us watching our symptoms—whether those symptoms are getting better or worse—he has control over us. But as we keep our eyes on the Word, it doesn't matter what our bodies feel like. Ultimately, they will have to respond to that anointed Word.
Confession: I'm not moved by what I see or feel. I'm moved only by the Word of God. I know I'm healed simply because the Bible says by Jesus' stripes, I was healed.
