Week # 6 NUGGETS:

Listen to God’s Spirit.

I experienced a major turning point in my own prayer life when I learned simply to shut up while I was praying. That may sound odd to you, and it seemed odd to me at first.

You see, I used to do all the talking when I prayed to God. But then, several years ago, I read Bill Hybel’s book, Too Busy Not to Pray. That book completely changed the way I approached God through prayer. Since reading that book, I have added a significant component to my prayer life: listening. I take time to listen to what God might have to say to me.

Practically, the way I go about this is to bring a notepad with me when I sit down to pray. Then I write at the top of several pages things like the following:

“What is the next step in my career?”

“What is the next step in my ministry?”

“What is the next step for my family?”

“What is the next step for my marriage?”

“What is the next step in my education?”

“What is the next step in my finances?”

During my prayer time, I meditate on questions such as the above. Often, God will start flooding my heart with ideas and information regarding one or more of those questions. I write as fast as I can as He speaks to my heart. What a glorious experience that is to sense His Spirit on me, guiding my thoughts and words.

Through experiences like this, He has shown me many times with great clarity what His will is for my life. I long for those experiences when He speaks to me like that. Those times are truly life changing.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

My Confessions:

I am healed today because of God’s compassion, and by Jesus’ stripes. I speak this over my life each and every morning. I still see results and walk in God’s promise to me. I am blessed, healed, and highly favored by God!!

ANSWERS:

According to this study: Questions:

1).     Explain compassion the way you see it here in this lesson.

This was God’s love showing, He love us so much His compassion is revealed. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.”

2).     How can we have tenacity in our walk with the Lord concerning our healing?

We can have tenacity where we study God’s Word, trust God’s Word, and then stand on it no matter what happen. Speak His Word over our life over and over and over again until you see results, that tenacity.

3).     What does God’s ability and willingness shows us concerning our healing?

God’s ability shows His power, but His willingness shows His compassion. In the Word, God’s compassion is magnified above His power. The Bible says, “God is love” (1 John 4:8), but it never says, “God is power.”

We are born for such a time as this. Father, we ask for the grace to be completely humble and gentle; patient, bearing with others in love. I make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Teach us to be a faithful prayer warrior on behalf of Your children.  Abba Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. BIBLE STUDY: “KNOWING GOD’S WILL” Week # 6

God's Compassion to Heal:

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him. —Mark 1:41

"Moved with compassion," Jesus touched the leper. This may have been the first time in years that someone touched this man. No one wanted to touch him. He wasn't even supposed to come near people. In Luke 17:12, ten lepers cried to Jesus from afar because it was illegal to approach him. If a leper came within 100 paces of a healthy person, he had to get out of the way and call out, "Unclean! Unclean!" Still, Jesus heard the lepers call to Him and told them to go show themselves to the priest, and they were healed as they went. (v. 14.) Yet this one leper in Mark 1 came close to Jesus. Though he could've been stoned for being there, he had the tenacity of someone who wanted healing so badly he was willing to take a risk for it. The leper fell down before Jesus and said, "Lord, if You will, You can make me clean." Jesus immediately settled that question. Moved with compassion, He put forth His hand and touched the leper, saying, "I will; be thou clean." You see, God's ability shows His power, but His willingness shows His compassion. In the Word, God's compassion is magnified above His power. The Bible says, "God is love" (1 John 4:8), but it never says, "God is power." So trust your heavenly Father's love for you. As you come to Him in faith, His compassion will flow freely to heal you and make you whole.

My Confession: God's love and compassion reach out to me and heal me of every sickness and disease. He's able and willing to make me whole. So I am whole.

Please read these scriptures (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 103:3; Matthew 4:23, 8:3. Revelation 22:6.
